The International Airport Ioannis Kapodostrias is located in Corfu, one of the most beautiful islands in Greece. Its name is inspired by Ioannis Kapodostrias, the first governor of Greece after the Greek revolution.
Fraport, a German company, took over the management of Corfu Airport and 13 other regional airports in 2017, following their privatization. They will oversee the management of the airport for the next 40 years, with the possibility of a 10-year extension.
Since taking over, Fraport has implemented several renovation projects, with a focus on modernizing and developing the airport. One such project was the modernization of the Ioannis Kapodistrias Airport, which has greatly improved the airport’s facilities and services.
The airport is served of about 48 airlines throughout the year by the regular Greek airlines like Aegean Airlines, Olympic Air, Astra Airlines, Sky Express, and by a large number of foreign companies, charter, and low cost, during the tourist season.
